WEBQUEST

WebQuest
In the “Art” of the Beholder - A WebQuest for Grades 9 - 12
Introduction
In the digital age of technology, artwork can be discovered with just one click of the internet.  Artwork is all around us, without the viewer even realizing it through newspapers, magazines, books, television, advertising and the web. It is important to understand how artwork has influenced our lives and cultures and it is also important to acknowledge an artists’ individuality.
This WebQuest will launch students into a world of digital media and various artists’ self-portraits, such as Salvador Dali, Renee Magritte, Frida Khalo, Andy Warhol, Leonora Carrington, Norman Rockwell...etc. They will give some thought to Visual Culture and the world around them to create a self-portrait inspired by the artists and artwork they choose.  A Prezi presentation will be shown to introduce the task to the students.
